I''ve been 4 times to city power! Called no reply - hung up call again - still no reply! Drove Sat to city power just to be told the systems were down and all the staff have left for the day! Now what!!! Petrol wasted....
We pay at Checkershyperama every month - but to date we receive now and again invoice (but no payments are reflected)!!!!!! Now I''vwe recevied a letter of demand for R9000.00 from Attorney,Notaries and conveyancers demanding payment on behalf of those ''IDIOTS'' at city of johannesburg municiplaity!!
Get rid of those incompetent IDIOTS at the City of JHB municiplaity! Replace them with people who are able to spell , speak and write or are also computer literate!

City Power is disgusting, i've been calling their number since 08:30 this morning and one is answering the phone. Such incompetence. Why do they hire people who do not want to work. Our country is such a joke! This government is such a joke! I'm emmigrating to Switzerland where the government actually cares for it's citizens wellbeing. I'm black and sick of this. I wish I was born in another continent but I'm moving and I'm glad I can move, I'll be sorry to leave my parents behind and my other family, this is not a good country to raise kids. It's a beautiful country but our way of life sucks and our government sucks. I feel sorry for my fellow black people who have no way out of this mess. But then again the power is in their hands to vote differently and it amazes me why they keep on voting for dumb@$$ incompetent leaders who only care about filling their pockets and those of their friends and families. I live in tshepisong, since this month our electricity has been cut off and even today we are not connected. It is 25 Chamber street. I have to do a lot of reading when i get home and use my PC alot, without electricity i cannot do so, you guys are expected to give us power in trurn we are expected to pay, but you are no doing your job in this regard. Some of my appliances have been broken and cannot be repaired under my warranty. Could you please remedy this nonsencial situation you have created. I have to admit, you service is beyond bad. Yes, how we as consumers must just pay for services and get crappy services, if any, in return. I myself have phoned City power Roodepoort a week ago. I was calling the number since 1h30 the afternoon, had it on re-dial, and eventualle at 2h45 a woman answered giving her name as Lucy but unwilling to give her surname. when i enquired why she took so long answereing the phone she said she was on lunch. I got my husband to call as well, and he waited as long! he also asked for her name and surname and she refused ti give her surname, and the same lady named Lucy, said her name was Boitemelo!!!!! What is becoming of South Africa. We have to stay on the phone for hours to get service, adn then still you get re-directed anyway, because no-one knows what they are doing! We want companies to adhere to the affirmative actions rules, adn see what that brings you! Majority of people working in the service to community industries have this attitude of : you will wait till I am ready to deal with you!

City power where do I start? I got a call on friday that our power has been switched off on thursday because we owe, mind you I'm using pre-paid. I get them asking me if my account was up to date at the time of installing? funny as their policy states that they can only install pre-paid if the account is up to date. so nobody knows what i'm being charged for. eventually someone figures out that it is the water account, but this is also strange beacuse I get a water, rates and sanitation bill every month which is paid and up to date. So in my frustartion I pay the R2040.00 that they say I owe and request a reconnection. this is on a monday I have had two break ins over the weekend. I'm told to go to Rooderpoort to sort it out because i'm still being charged electricity. When I get there monday morning, "No they will fax my proof of payment to the city as its is their account and not Roodepoorts" i'll get it switched on within 72hours. I call today to find out what is happening I find out a reconnection has not yet been requested and it will take 72 hours from today. This is ridiculous do we really have to settle for such incompetence? From : Thuso
On 08/09/2009 ive been trying to get a final meter reading on our old premisses. Only to send from pillar to post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do the people at City Power know what thy are doing?????????????????? Ive been dailing the number 011 470 9000 only to find my call beeing rerouted to 011 375 5555. what is happening guys? Where is your customer service???????????????? After holding for 29 min on 470 9000 a lady picked up the phone and had a private conversation with a nother lady only to put me back on hold without even speaking to me!!!!!!!!!!!! NO NO NO NO NO NO. this needs to looked at by the office manager called Kwelesti Maphopa. Please sir we need people that is willing to help the public. From : Ronelle
I am so disgusted in the service if City Power. I've called 4 different numbers of which 2 are supposed to be 24 hours and NO ANSWER. A week ago my power was cut because of teir fault, I went to show the receipts of payment and my power was only switched back on 5 hours after the time given. Also, the street I live in had no power since about 2am this morning, when I left home at 7am still no power. I am now holding on (AGAIN) on 3 different lines for 3 different numbers to see what the problem was and if my power is back on. I've been holding for 24 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant compain about the service because there isn't any!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are people who would love to have a job and will be more able to answer a phone.
